I tried a lower MTU once when I had masquarading enabled ... I'd read that it
improved each net connections share of the overall bandiwdth. Okay...some
things may not have lagged so much, but an FTP data transfer transfer rate
went down the pan :) So I always run at 1500 regardless...hasn't affected me
yet.
