You can get into the console through ctrl+alt+FX, where
X=1,2...6. Having said that, if your keyboard isn't working in X :-/ not
much use I suppose. However, you can boot in single user mode (by typing
single at the lilo prompt), and then disabling the graphical login from
there (or hacking away at /etc/X11/XF86Config at your heart's content).
Make sure that this file looks reasonable for your configuration.
