[Sheflug] KDE problems

Hi all,

Can you help me with this one?

I have a Mandrake 7 box which was working perfectly until recently. Now, if 
I log on as root and start X, I only get the plain grey screen and no KDE 
desktop, the same applies if I log on as "steve". I created another user 
and KDE works fine if I log on as that user and start X though.

Which files do I need to copy over from the new user and edit to repair things.
