[Sheflug] Which Linux book?

I have been asked to recommend a book for someone who is a complete newcomer
to Linux, but is eager to learn it.

He has been given several flavours off magazine cover disks, and I don't
know which he will settle on. So it should be a general book, I would
imagine. Also he says that he "only has a 486 computer with a basic graphics
card". He says that he will be using commands rather than a graphical
interface as his card is so painfully slow with redraws. For financial
reasons, he is unable to do any upgrading.

Any recommendations which I can pass on to him, for a good book please?

At the moment I have borrowed from the library, "Peter Norton's Complete
Guide to Linux". I think it's a good one, but for me it covers hardly
anything which is not in the SuSE6.4 manual. I prefer the dedicated manual.

Thanks for any advice.

Best wishes

Keith
