RE: [Sheflug] Samba WINS client
On an MS network this is where WINS comes into it's own - when a Windows pc
gets a dhcp address it registers itself with the announced WINS server. The
WINS server dynamically builds a hosts file which is then optionally used
for name resolution. WINS is part of the MS networking package in NT /
Win2k Server I'm afraid.
