First, try `insmod pctel.o' from the ./lib/ directory.  If that works
you should then be able to access the modem as /dev/ttyS<soemthing>.

If it doesn't, complaining about unresolved symbols with names with
long random-ooking trailers, some variant on 

cd src/module
rm ptmodule.o
make EXTRACFLAGS=-DMODVERSIONS ../../lib/pctel.o
insmod ../../lib/pctel.o

should work.  You might want to move the existing pctel.o elsewhere
for safety.
