Nope, the primary is running Digital Unix 4.0E (which I have my doubts 
about, but I won't got there); the two run by MCS (mathematical and 
computing science) will most certainly be Unix of some sort, but whether 
they're Solaris, Digital Unix, or NetBSD (they have NetBSD kernel hackers 
on the staff there) I couldn't tell you.

So far today, I think I've had to manually approve five posts to the list, 
sent by list members using addresses that aren't subscribed to the list.  
As for missing messages, who knows - management there has always been too 
cheap to invest in the proper infrastructure for a robust mail system.
