kde2 is a great product..........
konkeror alone is worth the effort.......
it does however have it's draw backs.......... DCOP errors's are quite common
with suse. it does work and once you get it going, it is an effective
replacement for kde1.2.x..............
you can even run kde1 apps within kde2
the installation is quite fussy (as with any window manager you intall from
source!)
i have been following the development with interest as (i am/have been )
involved with with documentation writting for the product and can recomend that
if you wish to proceed further, subscribe to
the kde-user mailing list......... go to the kde site for this. they have
covered this subject in depth several times!
for anyone else intested in this.......... using redhat or mandrake simplifies
the process consideably as pre-compiled binaries are available for these
distro's (but be warned...... it's not as straight forward as installing a
general app!!!!)
let us know how you get on?
