[Sheflug] Piracy Blitz on Councils

Dear All

Front page of computing looks interesting this morning ? It
says.......

PIRACY BLITZ ON COUNCILS

" Anit-Software piracy body the Business Software Alliance is
preparing an onslaught against local government, a sector it claims is
the worst offender for using counterfeit and unlicenced software. The
BSA backed by software companies including Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec
and Corel said it will blitz local government in an attempt to resolve
the unlicenced use. "

Hmmmm.. well, I don't use windows so I don't have licencing
problems. Wonder if Sheffield Council are involved in this kind of
thing ? Wouldn't suprise me if they were :-)

The above and the fact that the people I know who build PCs and
install Win2000 are saying that it just crashes all of the time makes
me wonder why I should use MS Windows at all. In fact, I don't but
there are times when I have to go somewhere and use someone else's
computer.

Thanks
