The thing that we have to remember in all of this is why we want to
encrypt our mail ?

Most people are switched on enough to realise that secrecy is out of
the question. There's too much physical access to most systems and
even when a "secure system" is guarded with guns behind steel doors
it's still susceptible to attack from anywhere of any kind. I have
worked in those circumstances so I should know.

For most purposes we have to consider that we are interested in
privacy and not secrecy. This means that if someone does circulate
something that helps them to read your encrypted mail then at least
you did cut out the other 50 or so other people who would have read
your mail if you had not encrypted it. If GCHQ crack it and read it
then it shouldn't matter. They are looking for people who deal in
guns, drugs and bombs. Hardly the sort of thing that most of us want
to know about ?

Know your enemy and yourself :-)

Thanks
