[Sheflug] GPG/crypto (was SUID bit)
Just so you guys can see:
[baz@flux baz]$ gpg --version
gpg (GnuPG) 1.0.2
Copyright (C) 2000 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
This program comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.
This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it
under certain conditions. See the file COPYING for details.
Home: ~/.gnupg
Supported algorithms:
Cipher: 3DES, CAST5, BLOWFISH, TWOFISH
Pubkey: ELG-E, DSA, ELG
Hash: MD5, SHA1, RIPEMD160
Now, I'm sure that I've read that both Blowfish and Twofish are pretty
secure.
Blowfish is the standard cipher GPG uses for emails.
DES and Triple-DES are laughably easy to crack, IIRC.
