Blowfish and twofish are even easier to break than the others.
The reason that PGP came along was because the American Government
wanted a secure misinformation thing that involved encryption. That
way they could "surf the beech from both ends". I could say that the
inventor of PGP was in fact working for the government when he did his
work but all of that was covered by the cold war. The cold war was
all about institutionalised misinformation. We are still suffering
from this even now.
You invent a story ten or twenty years after the fact and then tell
the historians to lie for you or they won't have a job. This is an
integral part of the American academic way of life.
Surely you remember the Vietnam war and the philosophy that was
involved ? Scorched earth with a rock party thrown in for good
entertainment :-)
