Um, "logging in"? Or "connecting"? If you're unable to connect,
either (a) your httpd (I assume you really mean that "http://"?) is
not running, (b) you screwed up its config, or (c) Mandrake did behind
your back (I don't trust Mandrake, well, not any of the distros, but I
know Mandrake doesn't hesitate to introduce bugs into perfectly fine
apps just to be random). Read the httpd docs (probably Apache?)
If authorization is failing, then your password file (the only central
repository of auth info you're likely to have, unless you're running
kerberos) or auth system (probably PAM) is hosed. Read the PAM docs.
Finally, you may have screwed up your firewall stuff (ipchains,
tcpwrappers).
