[Sheflug] Manlug Meeting on the 16th

Dear All

Owen over at Manchester asked me to send this in so that you can read
it..........

I haven't had time to prepare the official announcement, but I've
been getting quite a few questions about the ManLUG meeting on
Saturday. We have every intention of meeting if at all possible,
since this meeting (with the two cluster presentations from
Dolphin and Scali) has been widely announced, and we are expecting
some visitors in any case. The Dolphin WulfKit presentation will be
given by Kare Lochsen and the Scali presentation by Einar Rustad.

I'd also like to tell people, if they don't already know, that
the head of UK S.u.S.E, Ruediger Berlich, will be giving two
presentations soon, one in Sheffield on October 7 about new
developments in Linux (and, of course, in S.u.S.E 7.0 and beyond);
see http://www.sheflug.co.uk/meeting.html for more information.
The other is in Leeds on October 9 with the title `Who's going
to use Linux and what for?'. Ruediger is aware that there will
be some overlap, and may give different (if overlapping) talks.
He is very intelligent, well aware of a lot of issues in the
Linux world, and I urge you to try to make at least one of these
talks if you can. I hope some day he'll be able to speak at a
ManLUG meeting, but we haven't been able to arrange it yet.

Incidentally, with respect to future meetings, I have several
potential volunteers, but nothing definite for October or beyond.
If one (or more) of the volunteers would kindly write to commit
himself (no women in the wings at the moment) to a particular
date, I would be most grateful. On a first come, first served
basis, of course. Otherwise you might have to listen to me again.

Formal announcement will follow as soon as I have time.
