I've had no trouble getting sound cards to work with Redhat and currently
have systems with both RH5.2 and RH6.2 on making lots of noise. The
soundcards I am currently using with these systems are cheapo SB compatibles
and an Ensoniq which I also used previously in a Mandrake 7 setup.
Admittedly RedHat doesn't always detect ISA soundcards automatically at
setup time but if you run 'sndconfig', this has never failed to setup the
soundcards effectively and automatically.
