 Mmm. Isn't it a RedHat system you're running?

 I can send you my /etc/inetd file if need be - this file definitely isn't 
empty with a fairly standard RedHat (6.x) install - anything but!

 BTW, swat is the remote admin tool for Samba. Port 901 I think - disable it 
if you don't use it.
