You have to remember that I've tested more software under NDAs than
most people have had hot dinners.  Most of it crashed so much when it
was "finished and tested" that I thought it was the nastiest technical
project that I had ever worked on.

I've found through using Linux that it's a good idea to not to bother
with the latest kernel unless you are a programmer.  Then there's also
the practical things like not running without a firewall unless you
want everyone on this planet to read your hard disk.  The kernel code
is the thing that helps to drive the firewall and new code means new
bugs and less security.

The MS stuff is known to completely useless for most things :)
