Ah, the 'other' desktop OS. I have been without it now for many a month.

I use an ancient, proprietary (is that how you spell it?) parallel port
scanner (Plustek 4830P) which is fortunately supported by a SANE
backend. Many parallel scanners are, in fact.

USB, hmm. Well, can't say I use it at all. Can't really see the point at
the mo. It only currently does what is possible via other methods
anyway. And for this reason I don't mind waiting (possibly
indefinitely) for it. The handspring Visor USB docking cradle is supported
in 2.2.14, tho', if you get one of those (I use a PalmIII. nice serial
interface to PC)
