Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.  The mouse is just a bog-standard two
button Microsloth one - nowt fancy at all. Exen without touching the mouse -
or anything else, the cursor hops about the screen randomly. I don't think I
know about gpm but I seem to remember the letters flashing by as linux
loaded - I'll have to look at the HOWTOs.
