[Sheflug] Laptop

Dear All

My Compaq laptop went a bit funny a week or two ago and Sterling
Management have replaced it with a USI Aries computer which is superb
and also somewhat better. These notebooks are made by....

http://www.usi.com.tw/

it's a 233MHz machine with 32Mb of RAM and a 3.2Gb hard drive. Very
nice 12" screen. Sound and CD-ROM/floppy. One year guarantee. Even
the PCMCIA network
card works. Only thing I can't work out is the modem card. Something
wrong in there :(

The only issue that's going on here is that when I installed SuSE 7.0
it wiped out the hidden O/S2 partition. I think that was the one with
the utilities in it. But, I can put that back in with YaST. Only
thing is I can't work out how much room I need. There's also the thing
about which file do I download from the site
above.

I've got a CD-ROM with a file in it called.... 'HDPREP' that might be
the one that I'm looking for.

Anyhow ca anyone make any suggestions about what to do with this ?
The manual that came with the machine didn't say anything about a
hidden partition and I didn't know anything about it until I'd deleted
it.

Thanks

Richard
