In vi, yanking is copying to a temporary buffer. In Emacs, its bringing it
back!

At least C-c for copy is reasonably sensible. And there's always
Shift-delete and Shift-insert for copy and paste.
I find vi to have the most sensible key bindings for general use. I used
to have (until yesterday *sob*) Minix on a 386 laptop w/ 2Mb ram and an
awful keyboard with nasty little cursor keys. I could do all kinds of
wonderful things using only elvis, a few choice settings and the hjkl
keys for navigating! Marvellous.
