M-w copies, C-w cuts, C-y pastes. Tada!

It's next to x and c, so the hard of thinking don't have to look to far
;-)
On the whole, as I have said before, the best software for any purpose is
that which enables you do do it most quickly, most accurately and most
comfortably. For example, for my last assignment, I made a Latex document
in emacs, using Octave and gnuplot to create the graphs and calculate the
answers, (using an octave script I made in emacs), converted it to a
single postscript document using dvips and the /usepackage{graphicx} latex
bit, and dumped the whole lot to my postscript compatible printer for nice
output. The whole thing took little under 2 hours.
In comparison, using SO and Word, and even Abiword, I spent so much time
mucking about with the formatting trying to make it look HALF as good as
the latex equivelant I could have done it again twice over!
So, for me at least, a text editor, a math package and a printer are all I
need. I don't even need X, there are svgalib previewers for gnuplot, dvi's
and ps.
Just my two penneth,
Craig
