I haven't done that since back at school. These days all my artistic
talents are directed at electronic media. Digital cameras are a great
source for textures and images for compositing. I know several graphic
designers that use them extensively. It's easy to go over the top but you
can get some very nice results. Not to take anything away from the SLRs
they are great, and digital cameras are unlikely ever to match their
definition or flexibility, but when you know the image is going to be
digitized, scaled and messed with digital cameras are just the ticket.

Web and electronic media are the main uses, though as I said the top
cameras get a lot of use in design shops.
