You can pass io= arguments, IIRC, but I don't think they should be needed.
I've got Promise stuff myself, and Ultra66 being the nearest to what you
have, and they've never needed it..

Is there any motherboard chipset stuff that you need but haven't put in? It
could conceivably be a problem related to IRQs, but not necessarily the new
controller...
