So, notebook is connected to internet box. Internet box is on isdn. Okay...

So, default gateway for notebook is 192.168.1.1... internet packets from
notebook therefore are directed to .1..

Default gateway *again* points at 192.168.1.1. This means 192.168.1.1 is
another computer on the network? Which computer is 192.168.1.1??

I would have thought that the default route on the internet box is wrong. It
ought to be pointing at the box at the other end of the dial-up isdn.. I
don't think you've configured your dial-up right. I'm presuming, of course,
that the internet box is 192.168.1.1.

Cheers,

Alex.
