Parted (GNU Linux tool) only has the folowing options:
(parted) help mklabel
mklabel LABEL-TYPE create a new disklabel (partition table)
LABEL-TYPE is one of: bsd, mac, pc98, msdos, loop
I'm not using mac, not using pc98, it's certainly not loop. BSD uses
slices AFAIK, so, er, that leaves msdos? The actual partition is marked
Linux but the partition table is DOS.
