[Sheflug] Mail stuff

Hi all,

I am having no end of difficulty with my mail server at the moment. I seem to be able to send mail to myself (via my ISP's server), but not to anyone else.

The mail is sent from my desktop machine to my mail machine, which is then sent to my ISP's mail server. I do this, because of MAPS (Mail Abuse Prevention System), which many servers employ yo stop people connection directly from dial up boxen. Just a way to control your input and output flow if you ask me...

Anyway, I digress, the mail is sent to my server, and then relayed to my ISP's server, which is then sent to whereever. However, it just bounces back, telling me it 'cannot relay for <insert recipients address here>'. It also informs me of an authentication problem. It seems that it thinks the mail is coming from my server (scavenger.fishbot.org.uk), but is claiming to be my desktop (maverick.fi...).

So, how do I set up mail forwarding (I use SuSE 7.0, so YaST instructions would do, but I'd rather use the proper set up) so that I can send mail to it from my desktop machine (using pine set up to use an smtp server), and then forward it to my ISP, without the above problems.

Cheers,
