RE: [Sheflug] Mail stuff

Hi,

I guess you are using sendmail on the relay box?

Relaying by your ISP should be controlled on the basis of IP address
(because you are sending outbound mail to an arbitrary domain). Therefore,
the IP of your mail server must be one that your ISP recognises. Are you
using DHCP or static IP when you dial up?

Assuming that lot is working as it should, and your ISP has configured their
mail server to allow your IP then I'm a little stumped. It should not matter
that you have a network behind your mail box.

On the authentication stuff, I wonder if your or their box is trying RFC
1413 ident lookups. Make sure you configure your mail box to not require
that.....not that I have the faintest idea how to do that in sendwhale.

As a side issue, the use of DUL/MAPS is bloody sensible if you ask me. You
get a lot of utter crap from free ISPs dialup IP pool.
