[Sheflug] CD Writing
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I'm having trouble getting my CD Writer
working in Linux. It's an IDE HP 9100. I know that I have to use SCSI emulation
but I'm not sure how to do it. I was at the meeting in December and Craig
mentioned something about it but at that time I was using Mandrake 7.2 which
already detected my IDE CD Writer. I'm wanting to get out of the realms of
having everything done automatically as not much can be learnt that way. I'm
now using Slackware 7.1 by the way. There is a howto on linuxdoc.org but it
doesn't tell me much about getting SCSI emulation working. The URL for this is
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/CD-Writing-HOWTO.html#toc6
So far I have gone into "/usr/src/linux" and run "make xconfig" but in SCSI
there isn't anything about SCSI emulation. Also, don't I need to recompile the
Kernel once I've changed some of these settings? How do I do this?
Thanks,
Darrell
