conf.modules has been deprieciated in newer kernels (both 2.2.x and
2.4.x) in favour of modules.conf - you may have to update your
modutils RPM when you start using modules.conf.

 None of this lot has anything to do with your CDRW - these relate the
ethernet card and parallel port to the right modules for the kernel
(there's probably more to it, but it's good enough for this argument :-)

things - I just followed the CD-Writing HOWTO...
