[Sheflug] Evolution

Alex,

Well I built Evolution the other night and have been playing with it
for a while. It looks very slick and that it'll probably turn out to be
a very popular program. I do have the feeling though that the mutt and
pine crowd among us will just point and laugh at it.

I think the name is very apt, it is just a genetically mutated version
of Outlook.

Sadly though It's far from my ideal MUA. It seems to cater for the
people that haven't embraced procmail. This is though the only route
forward. If GNU/Linux is to have any chance on the desktop market
.procmailrc's are out of the question. (Unless you wrap something round
them)

I just want a program that:

1. Likes the fact that I use procmail to sort my mail.
2. Allows me to assign different identities to different mailboxes. (I
collect from multiple pop accounts and like my replies to appear as
though they came from the address they were sent to)
3. Has good integration with GPG and GPA. (IE instead of just signing
verifying decrypting, allows me to view key rings and fetch keys)
4. Has support for HTML mail (Sad but a necessity)
5. Will show me all of the mail headers

Other things like integration with address books would be nice but
aren't that important.

What does anyone else think is important in a mail client?

*Hopes he doesn't start the mother of religious wars by asking that*

In the meanwhile I'll go and see what mutt can do

Simon.
