Hi,

I've got a Voodoo 3K as well and never really has a problem with it
except I've never in 18months got glide to work. 

which version of Xfree is it 

with 3.x I used the svga driver, with Xfree 4 I now use the tdfx driver.

I used to have problems with XF86Setup but that was with my mouse.

So the HW is definitely supported
