[Sheflug] QT Problem

Hey,

I'm running Mandrake 7.2 and am trying to install the latest version of QT. I
have done what it says in the tar file "tar -xvzf..." and copied the
directory accross to /usr/local/ and renamed it to qt. Then it says to create
a file (if not existing) in your home directory called .profile containing
the following...

	QTDIR=/usr/local/qt
	PATH=$QTDIR/bin:$PATH
	MANPATH=$QTDIR/doc/man:$MANPATH
	LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$QTDIR/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH

	export QTDIR PATH MANPATH LD_LIBRARY_PATH

I have done this and restarted the computer (it says to just log out and log
in but better safe than sorry). But the next step is to run ./configure from
the QT directory (/usr/local/qt). When I do this it says...

   The environment variable $QTDIR is not set correctly. It is currently
   set to "", but it should be set to this directory,
   which is "/usr/local/qt".

   Please read the INSTALL file for instructions on how to set $QTDIR
   correctly. If you have set $QTDIR in your .profile or .login, you
   will need to log out and log in again to make the setting effective.

I am running bash as my shell and it doesn't seem to be loading up .profile.
I've tried it as root too, the whole process. Please help.
