Aha! This is it then. Well, I don't know exactly what you should put in
your firewall rules and / or hosts.deny, but try the following (at least
temporarily): comment out all:all in hosts.deny, no, rather add all:<B_ip>
to hosts.allow! (I don't know if you have to restart any part of your
network, maybe not, but if you still can't connect try) But the main
obstacle, I think, is the firewall. Try looking through Barrie's firewall 
config file, those usually have lots of comments, so, you might be able to
make the necessary adjustments yourself. If not - try (temporarily) taking
your firewall down (ough? scary?:-)). Don't know what distro you're
running. On Debian it would be (probably)
/etc/init.d/firewall stop (or 'restart' if you modified the config file)
on RH / SuSE / ... (?)
/etc/rc.d/firewall stop
Similarly to restart your network completely (maybe you should do it with
no active connections?)
/etc/[init|rc].d/network restart
