[Sheflug] kernel compile woes....
hi all,
well i followed Barries advice and got myself the 2.4.4 kernel to try to
resolve the problem with related connections.
kernel compiles fine, modules make ok (eventually), lilo installs ok.
on boot.... kernel panic :-(
boot message......
ds:no socket drivers loaded!
kernel panic:vfs:unable to mount root fs on 03:46
i did meddle a little before making (couldn't resist it) mainly removing
things like irda, pcmcia and file systems that i don't use. (and selecting
correct processor group)
i must have missed something but i've no idea what?
i ran make oldconfig to get a base to start from, i then ran make xconfig to
make the changes from the mandrake default (include all sorts of stuff!)
during make bzImage, there were a few errors about reaching beyond the end of
a function (associate with raid i think) but it didn't terminate the make!
any idea's?
