It depends what ye want in the long run :) I use Blue Yonder HSI - 
Telewests Cable Modem service, which for 33 quid month (25 quid/month if 
you take other telewest services) gives you an always on 512k up/128k down 
[64Kb/16Kb] pipe to play with...realistic speeds I get though are 45 to 50, 
depending on where I download from (I can get 55k/sec from Sunsite or 
mirror.ac.uk).

I've had no problems with it. They've got the news server running at speed 
now...they've got performance issues with the transparent proxy/cache for 
WWW, but that is being investigated. I've found it pretty okay, but you can 
always points your browser to a different cache outside BY's network if you 
want to.
