Re: [Sheflug] BIG (server) case?
Hello, all
Thanks very much for all your replies. Following your recommendations, I
1st of all checked Maplin's web-site, phoned their central sales, then the
local store. Then I checked Dabs' web-site... Now, the thing is, say,
Maplin can sell parts, but they won't put them together. Well, I certainly
had to put / remove / replace memory, disks, extension boards many times
before, but I never had a chance to build a computer from 'scratch' - case
+ PSU + mobo + ... So, obviously, some (all) of your have done this many
times, and my question is - how difficult it is (for 2 Ph.D.s in
Maths:-)), and could you give a list of parts, so I don't forget,
e.g. CPU, preferably in the assembly order:-) My guess would be:
PSU
mobo (match form factor) (with all wiring)
video card (if not built in)
CPU
RAM
FDD
HDD
NIC
this should let us boot it from a floppy and install over NFS... Have I
forgotten anything / wrong order?:-) There should be a manual with the
case and mobo, I guess, but I won't see it until I actually buy it. I am
sure there should be instructions on the www somewhere, anybody has a link
at hand?
Thanks
Guennadi
