[Sheflug] intro +digi camera
hi everyone, to those who dont know me
[which will be everyone i guess, heh]
little introduction i believe is in order, so uh yeh. my names james...
student at sheffield university doing computer science, so i figured it was
about time to switch to linux and i must admit im impressed (even though it
has taken me 5 reinstalls of suse to finally get everything working)... and
ill start coming to meetings soon as im back in sheffield in august (though i
doubt ill bring my computer as im one of those lazy-ass students who cant
drive and therefore isnt very mobile...)
so yeh. hi.
anyhew, i gots a question. basically i have this digital camera, which was so
cheap and pathetic the resoltion is about 100*100 and it only holds 6 shots
(it was a joke christmas present from someone) !!! connects through the
serial port.. its branded as WWF one but ive seen other sorts around.... i
used to use photoslam to connect to the camera and import it, though
apparently it was compatible with twain for otherprograms, i could never get
it working like that. anyhew, how can i get it working under linux? i cant
really determine what sort of camera it is because the only brand on it is
WWF, but can i plug into my serial port, send some random messages to it and
see what happens? or does anyone know a more stnadard way of doing this?
cheers
james
