Also interesting bearing in mind that I've just been subjected to an
attempted DoS attack, had an unpatched IIS5 server violated, and have just
had to close what I thought was a closed mail relay!

Interestingly, the SPAM attack which started last week was being made by
someone using one of the ISPs mentioned in the article - Genuity.com. The
DoS though seemed to originate in Taiwan, with the home page on the server
in question getting replaced with a message along the lines of "F**k the
Chinese". I knew I should had stuck to Apache!
