[Sheflug] win2k dual boot

you can get win2k to boot with linux, but its a bit complicated. well. no it
isnt actually. but its boring.

(1) delete everything first. im assuming a clean instlal of both os'es here

(2) install win98 (wait wait im getting to win2k..) on primary boot disk or
wherever you want win2k to be

(3) install suse 7.2 - when it gets to lilo, it should say its detected
windows and will add it to the graphical boot manager. choose "custom lilo
installation" and tell it to write itself to the MBR. dont bother with this
boot floppy crap.

(4) now you have win98 and linux dual booting . boot into windows

(5) upgrade win98 to win2k. but DONT USE NTFS. linux wont work if u use
this. win2k install routine will proabably want to restart the computer at
some point. this is fine, but remember it will boot to the suse manager
thing, and youll have to make sure it boots windowsd before the
installlation completes.

should work fine this way. any problems email me, as ive done this myself
for the machine im on at the moment. might be easier just to get a new pc to
run linux on though. am finding that quite at the moment. more 'dual
computing' than dual booting though really.,

hope that helps
