The Axis stack is a nice idea, but I can think of nicer ways to do it.  The
BlueZ stack is very much nicer, and uses sockets.  It is now (as of 2.4.6) a
standard part of the kernel.

I've also heard of the BlueDrekar stack from IBM, but I don't know much
about it.

Certainly, any of these options is tastier than the MS equivalent - the
standard Ericsson stack is abysmal, and only supports USB (yuck).
