Yes, numerous times, but I'm not exactly using a stock kernel...
currently 2.4.7+ext3+alsa+nvidia

or however to write that... 2.4.7 with the ext3 patches, and using alsa
and the nvidia drivers.. (as modules, of course..) and most of the
lockups appear to be alsa related.

(I started using ext3 to avoid the fscking, caused by said lockups, so
it isn't that, and in fact, that has been far more stable, than I
expected. (to the degree of using it for all my filesystems, instead of
just /home))

I will try 2.4.9 in a few days (I've been waiting for the ext3 patch).
but 2.4.7 is the most stable 2.4.x I've used.. and is, just as stable as
2.2.18 has been for me on this machine (and more stable than the other
machine where 2.2.{16,17,18} would lock up every 2 or 3 days).
