Hey up.
This is how I do it on my Debian woody machines..
In /etc/rc.d/ntpdate there's a space for putting a list of ntp servers to
be queried at machine boot time.
You'd just put the details of your ntp server there.
If the machine drift isn't *too* bad, you could run ntpdate to query a
computer like rolex.ripe.net when you are online. I tend to do this every
few weeks or so.
Or get it to do it each time you go online (on the gateway computer).
run :
echo "ntpdate rolex.ripe.net" >> /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/gettime
chmod a+x /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/gettime
