Good choice, I use it extensively. Works well - I use it with McAfee.

Uhm, nope. qmail-smtpd still gets the connection, then passes it to amavis
for scanning (because it thinks it's passing the mail onto qmail-queue)
which then on the qmail-queue for onward delivery.

The controls still work as before.

One anomaly I have seen, specifically with Demon, is that an infected mail
gets quaranteened as it should, but remains on Demon's queue - which then
causes it to be redelivered again and again. I've not had a chance to look
into it further as it's not really a problem to me.
