tune2fs -j.
I use ext3, but the only reason I used it, is the not having to
reformat, given the choice I would have used xfs.

ext3 is pretty nice, but it is also under heavy development.
and I don't really like using a filesystem that requires patching the
kernel (the problem with boot disks etc, which luckily ext3 being
backward compatible solves, but it's still and issue with the others..)
