FreeBSD has a linux-compat mode too, IIRC. (Wouldn't surprise me if
even OpenBSD does).

I had a shot at putting together an OpenBSD firewall box a few months
back, but I never got very far - maybe I'll get some tips at some
point :-)

IMHO, any of the BSDs are similar to  UNIX; certainly the boxen I've used.
I'm an admin for a rather old SysV/Motorola UNIX box at work, and it's
much closer to FreeBSD than I would have thought.

If I was a bit closer to Sheffield (or maybe one meeting every so
often, I could trek up there I guess) I'd be there for the BSD meets...
