Nope. It didn't work - still hangs with L? [flashy cursor] after I
enter freebsd at the LILO: prompt.

Boo.

More annoyingly is that I entered 

reboot -n

into my firewall box - which had at that time been running for 160
days - a bit of a record. Blast.

Oh well. And I was just mentioning that I'd convert it from Redhat 7.0
to Debian when the box goes down next...

Shame I'm not hot enough on BSD to do a BSD firewall yet.
