Just for everyones benefit: you need terminators on coax network, because
otherwise the signals 'bounce' off the end of the wires, and turns your
network into the electrical equivilent of an echo chamber. T-pieces are also
required: without these, you can't attach the terminators :)

Not valid as others have said, but this wouldn't cause it to not work.

Yep, sounds standard. Are you using network coax as well as network t-pieces
and terminators? Everything should be rated at 50 Ohm. TV coax is rated
slightly higher - 75 Ohm for composite video, aerials even higher still IIRC.
Which means that it may or may not work, depending on the length of the cable
- if it's short, it may not matter, if it's long, it probably won't work.

Do you know which driver you are using? Some of them (3c509, for example)
allows you to set the physical transciever. You can do this with something
like:
options 3c509 xcvr=3,3
.. in your /etc/modules.conf file (still assuming you're using 3c509). If you
don't know what driver you're using, log in as root and do a 'lsmod'. Paste
the results back to Sheflug ;)
Cheers,
Alex.
