Re: [Sheflug] RE: Darrells Smoothwall/Network hassles
Yeah I'm using a network coax as well as network T connectors and
terminators. The card on the main machine is an NE2000 I think and the card
on the smoothwall machine is a W3 something or other. It's another popular
card but I can't remember what it is. I've typed in ifconfig on both machines
and this is what I got...
Main Machine
----------
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:E8:DF:DD:56
inet addr:192.168.1.2 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
Interrupt:9 Base address:0xda00
Smoothwall Machine
---------------
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:00:C0:A6:DF:65
inet addr:192.168.1.1 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
Interrupt:10 Base address:0x310 Memory:cc000-d0000
When I pinged the machines though I did notice that the TX packets gave an
error of 1.
