Read Documentation/filesystems/ntfs.txt in the 2.4.x kernel tree ... if you 
don't have it available, let me know and I'll mail it to you.

In short though:
	- Reading NTFS pretty much works. It's okay for NT 4.0, but
	personally I don't know what its like for Win2K as Microsoft
	changed the on-disk structures.
	- Writing NTFS is dangerous. Always has been. There is a bit
	more information in the above file though, and ways you can
	write *with caution*.

Personally unless you need NTFS, I'd stick with Fat32 as this also means 
that if you have a serious problem you can grab a Win95/98 or DOS boot 
disk, plonk that in, boot and do FS manipulation from DOS. Linux can also 
read/write FAT32/VFat without any known problems.
